Pizzana is our most-visited family restaurant, by a wide margin. Close to home in Brentwood, good enough for the adults, accessible for the kids without feeling designed around them — that combination is harder to find than it should be.
The Crust, Briefly
Pizzana’s neo-Neapolitan crust comes from chef Daniele Uditi (with actor Chris O’Donnell as an early investor). The dough ferments for more than 24 hours, which is why it comes out airy and crisp instead of dense. Why It Actually Works With Kids
High chairs and strollers are handled without fuss, and staff will adjust tables quickly. The bigger thing is the service itself: servers are genuinely warm with kids, they’ll simplify a dish or make butter noodles on request, and they’ve done small things like a surprise dessert for a birthday without us asking. Crayons and coloring sheets are on hand too, which buys the ten minutes you need while food comes out.
What to Order
The Margherita is the reliable order; the Cacio e Pepe pizza is a favorite when we want something richer; the seasonal Banh Mi pizza (pickled vegetables, spicy toppings) is worth trying if it’s on the menu. For happy hour, a Classic Lime Margarita cuts nicely through the Margherita’s richness, and a Blood Orange Margarita works well against the Cacio e Pepe’s peppery pecorino. Chianti is the classic pairing if you order pepperoni.
What It Costs

Planning the Visit
Reserve ahead, especially on weekends, and go before 7 p.m. if you want a calmer room with kids in tow. We like pairing the visit with dessert next door at Bacio di Latte, and it’s a good pick for birthdays or other small celebrations.
